How are Class B (EN 13501 European Standard) better than Class 0 ACP (British Standard)?

Aluminium composite panel price is quite economical and premium on the basis of the selection of sheets in order to serve customers of all income bands. It is quite obvious that distinct features and characteristics of any product bring about a spellbinding impact on commercial and domestic ground. As a result, there exist certain specific standards in context to product certification and product classification. In fact, it is advisable to connect and communicate with ACP sheet manufacturer in India to have vistas of ranges that act perfectly on quality standards.

Product standards and product certifications are as under:

Class B is referring with the EN 13501 New European International Standard and Class 0 ACP is referring with Old British National Standard on the legal grounds of UK Standards.

What is Class B?

British Standards are built with the roots of some rules and regulations that act as a measuring rod in gauging the degree and intensity of fire resistance and its impact. Class B comprises subclasses for smoke- s1, s2 and for Droplet- d0, d1, d2 .Class B – s1, d0 mean minimum smoke & no droplets.

What is Class 0?

Class 0 fire rating generally serves in the UK while building the rules and regulations on the fire safety measures fenced beside the buildings and towers. Due to the very fact that all six classes B(s1,d0), B(s1,d1), B(s1,d2), B(s2,d0), B(s2,d1), B(s2,d2) lies in Class 0 means it could release more smoke or droplets and defeats the purpose of choosing fire retardants.

How Class B outshines Class 0?
The core material of Class B cannot catch fire on exposure to the flame of standard intensity lead to exhibit the flame self-extinguishing behaviour due to the formation of ash layer on the substrate surface hence; it has a very low risk of fire. On the contrary, Class 0 may burn and it has a high risk of fire.

As per BS476, a sample that passes Class B means it is already Class 0. On the other hand, Class 0 material as per BS476 may not pass a Class B test. Class B can outperform any Class 0 material at any point of time but it cannot be vice – versa.

Thus, it is said that Class B is quite better than Class 0. For deeper insight stay connected with Eurobond.
