What are the different ways of application of ACP sheets?
Everyone loves a great first impression,
therefore it becomes important to choose the right kind of exterior façade
material when it comes to making your buildings and homes look attractive. ACP
sheets are designed in consideration to make your homes and offices look
aesthetic. An appealing ACP Sheet
façade not only increases the value of your premise but also sets the tone.
ACP sheet brands are made up of two panels of
thin and flat aluminium that is attached to a non-aluminium centre. You are
likely to counter ACPs several times a day without even realizing it.
Now, before you look for the ACP sheet price, you must know their
different ways of application. Let’s see what they are:
Rout
and Rivet
ACPs can be easily installed by the Rout and Rivet
method. The ACPs must be folded to form a tray-type panel. A continuous
V-shaped routed groove is created along the entire panel perimeter at a
distance of 25 mm from the panel edge. After routing, only a face skin and a
minimum thickness of 0.51mm of core material are seen to be left.
Next, the edges are folded after removing the
corners in order to create 25mm deep “pan” or cassette. The panel units are
stiffened by riveting the corners with aluminium angles.
The next step involves pre-punched aluminium clip
angles being attached on the centre to the returned pan edges at approximately
305 mm. The clip angles help transfer the wind load on the panel into the
structural supports. To allow for sequential installation, clips are staggered
from one panel to the next. Rout and Rivet joints must be minimum 16mm wide to
ensure smooth thermal movement.
Pasting
Pasting method is recommended only for interior
claddings to directly paste the ACP sheets to the surface structure. First, the
brackets are fixed to hold the MS profiles and then the aluminium profiles are
attached to the MS profiles. Then the ACP sheets are cut as per the required
sizes.
Before pasting, the edges of the ACP sheet and
the frame structure are thoroughly cleaned with an approved cleaner. To paste the panels into the frame structure,
we can use a double-sided architectural tape used for structural glazing.
After pasting the ACP sheets, we fill the
grooves with approved silicone weather seal that offers protection to the ACP
façade from different weather conditions.
Male
Female Rainscreen system
MFR is a concealed fixing system which is best
suited for high-rise, commercial buildings. It comprises fixings in double T
shape of different lengths to absorb all irregularities of the façade. To avoid
vibrations in the panels, the Male and Female profiles have the neoprene
protection gasket.
The spacer is fixed to the vertical parameter
using special mechanical wedges that are recommended in each case by the
fixture suppliers. These double T spacers receive the omega-shaped vertical
mullions. Then the trays are fixed to the vertical mullions using extruded
profiles.
MFR increases the longevity of the facade by a
minimum of 20% and the maintenance cost incurred is almost zero.
Eurobond, a thriving ACP company in India, provides high-quality and long-lasting panels
that can be used in the aforementioned methods to construct different types of
attractive structures.
